The Sixers will start the second
half of the season tonight on the road against the Detroit Pistons.
Unfortunately, they will remain without center Spencer Hawes, who has already
missed 20 games this season due to injury. Monday, the team announced that
Hawes will miss at least two more weeks with his Achilles injury.
This season, the Sixers are 12-2
when Hawes is in the lineup. Without him they are 8-12. Hawes is averaging 10.5 points a game and a
team leading 8.3 rebounds.
The Sixers are in the middle of a
five-game losing streak and will need strong play out of rookies Lavoy Allen and
Nikola Vucevic if they plan to stay at the top of the Atlantic Division. They
have tough matchups against the Thunder and the Bulls coming up.
