Free agent wide receiver Plaxico
Burress expressed interest in joining the Eagles this upcoming season in an
interview with 97.5 The Fanatic Tuesday. The 34 year told The Fanatic that
nothing would make him happier than coming to Philadelphia.
Last season, Burress signed a
one-year contract worth $3 million with the New York Jets and proved that he
can still be a productive option in any offense. With the Jets, he had 45
catches for 612 yards and caught eight touchdowns. His solid season came after
he spent two years in jail for possessing an unlicensed handgun.
Burress stated that he could be the
missing piece that the Eagles need to improve on their 8-8 season last year.
If the Eagles are able to land
Burress, Michael Vick would have plenty of weapons and LeSean McCoy will have
more running room. He believes that Vick has what it takes to lead the Eagles
to the Super Bowl and he wants to be a part of it.
