Flyers shutout by Sharks

The Flyers were shutout by Antti Niemi and the San Jose Sharks 1-0 late Tuesday night. Niemi stopped all 25 shots that the Flyers threw at him. Ryane Clowe’s early goal in the first period proved to be the game winner for the Sharks.

Ilya Bryzgalov had 22 saves on 23 shots as the Flyers fell to 34-21-7 for the season.

The Sharks (33-22-7) won 39 face-offs, 15 more than the Flyers won. The Flyers were 0-2 on the power play, putting them at 20 percent for the season. Clowe’s 11^th goal of the season was all San Jose needed as the Flyers could not find the back of the net.

The Flyers will return home to face the New York Islanders on March first at 7:00 PM.
