The Sixers snapped their five-game losing
streak Tuesday night with a 97-68 win over the Detroit Pistons. They improved
to 21-14 for the season and started off the second half of the season exactly
the way they wanted to.
Philadelphia controlled much of the
game, leading 50-34 at halftime and 75-53 at the end of the third. Thaddeus
Young played just under 30 minutes and led the team in points with 20 and
rebound with eight. Lou Williams added 13 points off the bench and Andre
Iguodala added 12 points, five rebounds, six assists and four steals.
Elton Brand returned to the lineup
and played 22 minutes. He had 10 points to go along with his three blocks.
Greg Monroe led the Pistons (11-25)
with 20 points and eight rebounds. Rodney Stuckey was the only other Detroit
player to score in double figures.
On Wednesday, the Sixers will face
the Oklahoma City Thunder, the best team in the Western Conference. The Thunder
score over 100 points a game and the Sixers will need to continue to play solid
defense to have a chance.
